IAM Patent 1000 ranks Beck Greener for patent prosecution for 3rd year running

Beck Greener News

Beck Greener has been ranked by the legal directory IAM Patent 1000 for patent prosecution in the recently published IAM Patent 1000 2023 listings. This year marks the third year running for the firm being ranked in this category. This ranking from IAM Patent 1000 means that Beck Greener is highly praised by sources and amongst the most competitive in the field.

The commentary about the firm can be seen below:

“I have worked with Beck Greener for over a decade and consider them my preferred EP counsel for intellectual property matters. They provide a consistently high quality of work, and we intend to work with them in the foreseeable future. Our company has used Beck Greener for years for handling EP prosecution, oppositions and general IP issues that require EP counsel. I have personally worked with several attorneys at the firm and have found them responsive, patient and articulate in explaining questions and legal issues.”

The individual patent attorneys at the outfit also receive enthusiastic client commendations:

Ben Muir is a subject matter expert. He has the unique ability to draft applications that are stellar for both the EU and UK patent systems, but also for usage in the United States when those applications are either submitted for the first time in the United States, or as a result of being a first-filed PCT application. His legal experience and know-how are equally matched by his technological expertise. Ben has significant experience and expertise in chemical engineering, materials and chemistry, but also the ability to quickly learn other tangential but complex technologies without a misstep. I can’t say enough positive things about Ben.”

“We have been working on technological patents with Avi Freeman for over six years. It is a pleasure to partner with someone who can understand our technology and can assist us throughout the entire patent process. Avi and his team were particularly good at rebutting comments from patent offices and allowed us generally to get broad coverage and protection for our medical devices.”

John Hull is an engaging and articulate communicator. While assisting with an EP opposition, he was particularly helpful at explaining nuances and adjusting our arguments and reasonings accordingly.”

Anna Hatt has successfully opposed several of our competitors’ patents, and defended a couple of our patents against opposition. She puts her arguments together in a logical and clear way that is easy to read and understand. She’s very detailed and dives into the matter and asks very good questions. She is very good at getting things precisely right. She understands the technology as well as the method and does a great job. She has impeccable drafting. I would definitely recommend her to others; above all, I would recommend her and Beck Greener to clients looking for a good track record in oppositions, appeals and oral proceedings at the EPO.”

James Stones took the lead on filing and drafting our patent applications, and always with a view to ensuring maximum probability of grant at later stages. We really appreciate his understanding of smaller businesses and his effort to find the best possible outcome in the most timely and cost-effective manner. He provided a lot of technical support throughout the process. He is very committed to his field, demonstrating a great sense of responsibility and knowledge. The work he delivers is always of a very high standard and he meets all deadlines. He is an extremely reliable, loyal and trustworthy patent attorney. His behaviour towards us is always very pleasant and proper. I have had the opportunity to work with many attorneys but working with him gives me a lot of satisfaction, joy and security – I can always count on him. I can confidently recommend James to anyone.”

Nick Bebbington is very accurate in his way of communicating and provides excellent proposals on strategies, which allows me to weigh up the pros and cons and decide the best way forward.”

Deborah Selden is an excellent and very effective patent attorney. I have worked with her for more than 10 years. She has helped me to draft and prosecute dozens of European patent applications. I am impressed by her up-to-date knowledge of patent law. Her analyses are thorough, she pays attention to the smallest details and is always able to suggest successful strategies that help to overcome hurdles along the way. I am very satisfied with her level of experience, commitment and service.”

Catherine Jewell has a strong technical mind, and her service is very good. She possesses an excellent technical and legal background. She explains everything thoroughly – her communication skills are first class. I must also mention her attention to detail, and that she is a lovely person who is pleasant to work with. My dealings with her have gone very smoothly.”
