Who we are
Whatever your business, you appreciate the vital importance of skilfully protecting and efficiently exploiting your intellectual property. Whether it’s defending a valuable trade mark or establishing the validity of an important patent, the outcome can spell success or failure for many businesses.
At Beck Greener we have a long tradition of working as trusted advisors to companies from a variety of sectors. Our clients particularly appreciate our practical approach, our commitment to understanding their businesses and our dedication to helping them solve their toughest challenges.
That’s why they stay with us. We’re proud of our high client retention rates and have served many businesses for over 40 years. These include some of the world’s leading brands from sectors like media, technology, life sciences, chemicals and engineering.
Our patent team is particularly valued for its understanding, not only of R&D, but also of the commercial realities of bringing new inventions to market, while our trade mark attorneys enjoy a global reputation for excellence in all areas of trade marks, from prosecution and portfolio management to complex disputes. First class expertise in copyright, design rights, and commercial IP completes a full service offering.
We also handle all aspects of IP disputes, from litigation strategy to hearings. Our strength in oral advocacy is widely admired, and we have an enviable record of success in hearings before the EPO and the UKIPO.
The firm has offices in London and Spain, and continues to provide our full range of services relating to both UK and European Union Trade Marks and Designs post-Brexit.
Beck Greener traces its heritage back to 1867, when a firm offering patent services was founded by William Henry Beck. However the modern Beck Greener came into being in 1974, when Anthony Burford bought the firm from Frank Greener. Today we are proud to be one of the oldest IP law firms in the world, enjoying unique relationships with both new and longstanding clients.
But, as important as our past traditions are, our focus is firmly on the future and we work hard to ensure we stay abreast of all key trends and developments in our clients’ sectors as well as our own. Experience has taught us that it’s constant innovation and expecting the unexpected that will ensure that we continue to thrive over the next 150 years.
