Chemical Patent Attorney
We are seeking a recently, or nearly, qualified CPA/EPA for our chemistry department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and/or chemical engineering.
Among the clients of the chemical department are a significant number of direct clients including multinational corporations, domestic companies and academic institutions, for whom we provide a broad range of services from original drafting through to advising on infringement and validity. We handle high volumes of opposition and appeal work before the EPO, where we enjoy significant success.
The position would suit a person with a broad range of skills who is seeking a long-term role, on a full-time basis, with a view to joining the partnership in due course. A competitive salary is offered, dependent on qualification and experience. After an initial settling-in period, we anticipate that the successful candidate would be based in our London office three days per week (Tuesday-Thursday), working from home the other two days. Hours are 35 hours per week, 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Holidays – 25 days (pro rata) in the first year increasing by 1 day each year thereafter up to a maximum of 30 days. Benefits are: discretionary annual bonus, workplace pension scheme, season ticket loan after 6 months’ employment, cycle to work scheme.

Trainee Patent Attorney
(Physics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering)
We are seeking a recent graduate with a 2.1 or first class degree result, or a post-graduate with at least a good first degree, in physics, electronics, electrical engineering, or related discipline to train to become a patent attorney. In addition to a strong academic background, you will need good interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and excellent attention to detail.
The role will be based in our offices at 12 Fulwood Place, London, WC1V 6HR. Hours are 35 hours per week, 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. The role will be predominantly office-based initially; details to be discussed and agreed on an individual basis with the candidate.
