Lengthy Look At Accounts Of Profits

In a lengthy decision running over 693 paragraphs, Judge Leech determines the accounts of profits payable by Astronics, Panasonic, and Safran to Lufthansa following the original decision handed down in 2020 finding that the parties variously infringed Lufthansa’s European (UK) patent. Astronics was determined to have derived USD$4.42 million of profits from the infringement, whilst Panasonic derived USD$7.384 million and Safran derived USD$81800.

A more detailed report on the decision (Lufthansa Technik AG v (1) Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems and (2) Safran Seats GB Limited, and Lufthansa Technik AG v Panasonic Avonics Corporation ([2025] EWHC 375 (Pat)) will appear in the CIPA journal.
