Expertise and Experience

Sarah-Jane is involved with the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent applications at the European and UK Patent Offices.  Sarah-Jane works primarily in the chemical sector, with particular emphasis on materials chemistry, polymers, catalysts, chemical engineering and energy applications such as photovoltaic systems.

Sarah-Jane joined the firm in 2012 after completing her PhD in research related to the development of a ligand-controlled regioselectivity switch for rhodium-catalyzed hydroacylation reactions.

Sarah-Jane achieved a merit in the course examinations leading to her Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.  Sarah-Jane qualified as a European Patent Attorney in July 2016 and will be sitting her final UK qualifying examinations in October 2016.

With her colleagues John Hull, Anna Hatt, and Matthew Ng, Sarah-Jane provides a monthly update on UK patent case law for the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys journal.  She has also contributed to career guides for the patent profession produced by Inside Careers and The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
