Litigation Event

Beck Greener News

Last week saw Ian Bartlett, head of trade marks at Beck Greener, co-chair the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys’ Day Seminar for Litigators in London.

The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) is the membership organisation for UK Trade Mark Attorneys. Ian is the chairman of their Litigation Working Group, which aims to support UK practitioners in bringing and running contentious proceedings before the UK courts.  Speakers at the day-long seminar he organised included Queen’s Counsel, other senior barristers, solicitors and fellow attorneys.  Topics covered included preparing for Case Management Conferences and the High Court’s shorter trial scheme, as well as practical considerations such as the use of technology in litigation and administrative considerations in contentious proceedings.

The sold-out event was a huge success, attended by trade mark professionals from across the country, providing an invaluable opportunity to learn about and discuss practical aspects of IP litigation, and encourage attorneys to exercise the enhanced rights of audience they now enjoy before the UK courts.
