A firm offering patent services was founded by William Henry Beck in 1867. However, the modern Beck Greener dates from 1974 when Anthony Burford bought the firm from Frank Greener. Initially based in Chancery Lane, the firm moved to offices in Lincoln’s Inn and High Holborn, before relocating in 2003 to its current premises in Fulwood House, overlooking Gray’s Inn in the heart of London’s legal district.
Beck Greener has expanded significantly in recent years, going from three partners in 1982 to eleven partners, and a number of associates and trainees, in 2018.
Last year we celebrated the fact that Beck Greener has been helping to protect inventions, trade marks, designs and other Intellectual Property for 150 years. We are proud to be one of the oldest IP law firms in the world, enjoying unique relationships with both new and longstanding clients, and look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come. In recognition of our heritage, we took this opportunity to look back at the last 150 years of innovation and marked our sesquicentenary by honouring the importance of Intellectual Property in shaping the modern world we know today.
