Beck Greener slays the dragon

Dr James Stones | September 2018

We are delighted to announce that Beck Greener has been awarded the Heart of the City award in the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards 2018 for its "STEM: Branching Out" project.

The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards celebrate businesses that demonstrate excellence in their approach to responsible business, and the Heart of the City award celebrates in particular businesses that have set up a strategic approach to community engagement for the first time in the last three years.  The "STEM: Branching Out" project aims to inspire young people from diverse backgrounds within London to engage with the STEM (science, technology, engineering & maths) subjects at school and to enter STEM careers.

Hosted by the Lord Mayor, the awards dinner took place at The Mansion House on 25 September (City Giving Day).  Two of our partners and STEM Ambassadors, Avi Freeman and James Stones, attended a dinner, together with Dr Ajay Sharman of STEM Learning UK, and they received the award from the Lord Mayor himself.

As partner responsible for the CSR programme within the firm, James Stones said:

"We are absolutely thrilled to have received this award.  For us, it represents the culmination of much hard work and dedication from everyone within the firm, and will help inspire us to see how we can develop our project to reach even more young people in the future."
